The outlook for transition to digital economy in Russia will be discussed at the VI International Business Summit in Nizhny Novgorod, according to reports from a meeting of the Summit Organizing Committee held Monday, August 28 in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.
Deputy Minister of Information Technology of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Botsmanov says that the Summit Plenary will focus on digital economy where experts will discuss its prospects and challenges in Russia.
The Federal Target Program for Digitization of Russian Economy adopted at the end of July «encompasses virtually all key industries and aims to improve the quality of life in Russia,» says the Deputy Minister, adding that the first public discussion of the Federal Program with the regional business community will be held in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
A round table «Blockchain and cryptocurrency: Towards a new economy» is scheduled on the first day of the Summit. «We have invited prominent blockchain experts, members of the business community, and representatives of IT companies,» says Andrey Botsmanov.
According to Ekaterina Pivovarova, Minister of Investment, Land and Property Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, «within the first two days of the Summit, a number of cooperation agreements on investment projects are expected to be signed between the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and companies that are willing to invest. The total value of agreements will amount to around RUB 28 billion, creating almost 3,000 jobs. The requisite documents are being finalized as we speak.»
The investment projects include construction of a salt processing plant in the Koverinsky District by the Sol Rusi company, a production facility for diesel fuel and Euro-5 gasoline in the town of Dzerzhinsk, and a die-stamped car parts factory.
«Agreements between the State Employment Service Branch in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and five large local companies are also part of our plans,» adds Ekaterina Pivovarova. «Agreements are designed to help employers in selecting job candidates and retraining staff members.»
