Nizhny Novgorod’s leading university launches KomTech 2014
The Technology Commercialization Center (TCC), a new department set up last December at the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN), is initiating its new master-class training series called “KomTech 2014” later this week.
The launch of the program is scheduled for March 20, 2014.
The key component of the event will be a roundtable titled “Developing Regional Innovation Eco-system Drivers – how to encourage collaboration?” The current invitees for this discussion include a distinguished list of innovation entrepreneurs and investors, and the roundtable is expected to help young innovators, local academia and business and government leaders to better understand each other in their joint efforts.
Additionally, the second part of the program will launch a new bi-monthly PitchNITE elevator pitch series where local entrepreneurs will have a chance to present their innovation start-ups seeking funding and mentoring to a panel of experienced angel, VC and corporate investors.
The PitchNITE target audiences include developers and owners of innovation projects, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, postgraduates, students, and innovative SME leaders. Invited for participation are the top managers of a number of Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow’s leading companies, as well as government officials, scientists, and experts representing sizable global companies.
The event is aimed at helping local start-up innovators and entrepreneurs, which are especially focused on various high technology segments supported by UNN, to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, work out winning strategies to promote the commercialization of their projects, obtain the knowledge and skills to implement their efforts, and put together effective PR strategies to support their projects.
The organizing team has received ample support from the KomTech sponsor, ELAN-Praktik. It is an innovation company based in Dzerzhinsk, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, and developing industrial vacuum systems and PVD coating application technology for a wide range of uses.
